Alright, I am UP now. A first and very wonderful morning in Singapore. The day started with a cup of coffee. I ate some chinese food in breakfast, Yeah! didn’t take too much because I am on dieting now

For the food in Singapore I have heard that Singaporeans are very fond of food. It would be an amazing thing for any first time visitor in Singapore to see that much passion about food, but since I have not been out of this hotel and have not travelled I can’t give any comments about it. But I will keep it in mind and will try to see that is it really true or not.
My todays planning is to go to some shopping center and do shopping. And of course! I will buy a camera to capture all these wonderful moments. I actually forgot my own camera in Germany so I must have to buy a new one - Though it will disturb my budget a little but I will manage it
Also, I have to inform my colleague here at Volkswagen company that I have reached here and will join the office from Jan 30.
He is very friendly and very supportive. He has told me the places of interest in Singapore and I just wish that I get time to visit all these wonderful places.
Ok, Now getting ready for the shopping…
Will write more laters, See Ya!!!

Hello everyone,
Welcome to my blog. My name is Lukas Schneider and I am doing internship in marketing at Volkswagen Singapore. This is really a nice experience to be here. I am here for only one month for my internship but after reaching here and seeing all the beauty I wish I could stay more to enjoy all this

Here I am staying in a “Hotel Supreme”. This is a Two-star category hotel but the arrangements and all the staff is very impressive, very kind and friendly. It is not only the people of this hotel but all the people I have met so far are same. They are very friendly.
My internship is starting from Jan 30 till then I will enjoy this beautiful place and of course do some shopping

If you are a Singaporean, then you just ask. There are only so many banks, investment banks, financial credit houses in Singapore (all of which are registered at the Monetary Authority of Singapore with a phone number on the website). Just call the usual suspects… DBS, UOB, OUB, OCBC, Kim Eng, GK Goh, Philips, SIAS, CLSA, UBS, Merrill, Nomura, HSBC, Deutsche, DMG, Credit Suisse, Goldman, Maquarie et cetera.
If you are not a Singaporean (or have PR status), your chances of an intership are close to zero. First, Trying to get a work visa for someone to work for a short period of time is difficult and you would have to prove that you offer something that no other Singaporean can. Secondly, internships are golden and unless you have the connections… your chances are low. I only know one guy who beat the odds and he was an Indian guy studying in Singapore who got #1 grades at Uni and was smarter than anybody I know.
You never know though… sometimes good things happen when you ask nicely. Good luck

“Don’t leave university without at least one really good internship.” That’s gospel from almost every career adviser in the world. But that’s not always as simple a process as it sounds. It takes a sound strategy and some workplace smarts to find an internship that will work for you and then to be successful at it. Remember that many companies now expect to find up to ¾ of next year’s hires from this year’s crop of interns. So being in the right place and making a positive reputation for yourself during your time there have never been more important.
